Ford announced that Jim Hackett is to pass on the CEO reins to COO Jim Farley. The consensus reaction seems to be that Hackett has laid the groundwork to put Ford on a better platform - with a number of significant steps taken, in terms of internal organisation and also product offerings - to address the major auto industry challenges ahead, but that it was unspectacular as far as investors were concerned. ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has granted a licence to K-Electric for constructing and operating a gas pipeline for supplying RLNG for its 900 MWs power plant at Bin Qasim Power Complex (BQPS).
It is the first-ever license obtained by KE in the oil and gas sector and is a key step in ensuring that the upcoming BQPS III power plant receives the right amount of gas, at the right pressure. This milestone will go a long way in helping bridge the supply-demand gap in Karachi in the years to come.
In the notification issued on January 6, 2021, Ogra granted a license to K-Electric Limited to undertake regulated activity related to construction and operation of 14 inch diameter x 2.4 kilometre Natural Gas Pipeline along with ancillary/connected facilities for purpose of transmission of Natural Gas/RLNG from Tie-in Point, SSGC Custody Transfer Station located at Bin Qasim to KE Bin Qasim

+ January 08, 2021 THE Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has ordered the Visayan Electric Company to submit an explanation over its alleged high power rates.
In a letter dated Jan. 4, 2021, ERC chairperson and chief executive officer Agnes Devanadera directed the Visayan Electric to submit an explanation regarding the high electricity rates charged by it and its perceived violation of Section 45 (b) of Republic Act 9136 of the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (Epira).
Section 23 of the Epira mandates that distribution utilities, Visayan Electric included, have the obligation to supply electricity in the least cost manner to its captive market, subject to the collection of retail rate duly approved by the ERC.
China's Baidu Inc plans to form a company to make smart electric vehicles (EV), two sources familiar with the matter said, with manufacturing to be carried out at plants owned by automaker Geely.
